Check your bar’s rules first
Rules on client testimonials and reviews for attorneys vary by state and by the bar that governs you. Read yours before you ask anyone. ReviewHero does not give legal advice, and it does not mention case details in a request.
A short, human Google review request from a law firm
The request is one email under your firm’s name: a one-line thank you and a single button that opens the Google write-a-review box. Replies go to the address on your account, so a client who writes back reaches you directly.
Google and Avvo
Google is the default. If your clients also find you on Avvo, paste your Avvo write-a-review address into a custom link slot in Settings. ReviewHero tracks clicks on it like any other link. Yelp is never sent.
Adding clients
Quick-add a name and email when a matter closes, or import a CSV from your practice-management export. Only contact people who gave you their email for this kind of contact. Every request carries an unsubscribe link and your business postal details.
Still no gating
Every client sees the same public link. Screening for the happy ones first is review gating, which Google’s policy and the FTC’s rule cover. Read the FTC rule explained.
Frequently asked questions
Does the email mention the client’s case?
No. It has your firm name, a one-line thank you and one button.
Can a law firm ask only clients who won for Google reviews?
No. That is review gating and ReviewHero does not support it. Every client receives the same link.
How do I stop messaging a client who does not want it?
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. One tap suppresses that person for your business, cancels any scheduled follow-up, and blocks further requests.
Can I use an Avvo link as well as Google?
Yes, through a custom link slot in Settings. Check that the address opens the right page by sending yourself a test.
How many reminders do clients get?
One follow-up by default, about two days after the first email, cancelled when they click. You can turn it off.
Put this on autopilot
ReviewHero asks every customer once, follows up politely, and stops the moment they open the review link. Free to download, and you can set it up from your phone.
