The template for a longer relationship
Subject: [Business name] – one small favor
Hi [First name],
It was good working with you on [the job / your visit]. Reviews are how most of our new customers find us, so would you share your experience on Google? An honest review helps.

What to leave out
- Any discount, gift or prize for a review. That is an incentivised review and Google prohibits it.
- A star rating ask before the link. Asking how they felt and only sending the happy ones to Google is review gating.
- A link to Yelp. Yelp’s guidelines prohibit businesses from asking.

What ReviewHero sends
ReviewHero’s own request is one short email. Your business name leads the subject line and the first sentence. The body is a one-line thank you and a single button to leave a review. Replies go to the email address on your account, and the footer carries your business details and an unsubscribe link.
The button is a tracked link unique to that customer. When they open it, ReviewHero records the click and sends them to the Google write-a-review box. Use Send me a test in Settings to see the real thing before you contact a customer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the wording of ReviewHero’s review request email template?
The email is short by design: your business name, a one-line thank you and one button. Use the Send me a test option in Settings to see exactly what customers get.
Should I put the Google link in the email body?
Use a single button or link. ReviewHero’s tracked link opens the Google review box and records the click, which is what stops the follow-up.
Do I need an unsubscribe link and a postal address?
Every ReviewHero email carries an unsubscribe link and your business postal details. See the CAN-SPAM checklist for review requests for the wider picture.
How long should the email be?
Short. A thank you, a reason, and one button is enough.
When should I send it?
Soon after the job or visit, while it is fresh. If they do not click, one follow-up goes out about two days later by default.
Put this on autopilot
ReviewHero asks every customer once, follows up politely, and stops the moment they open the review link. Free to download, and you can set it up from your phone.
