Three short review request text templates
Hi [First name], thanks for choosing [Business name]. If you have a minute, a Google review helps us a lot: [link]
Hi [First name], it was great to help you today. Would you mind leaving us a quick review? [link] Thanks! [Your name]
Hi [First name], [Business name] here. Thanks for your business! If you have a minute, we would value your honest review: [link]
Keep it to one sentence and one link. Say who you are, say thanks, and ask once.
ReviewHero does not send texts
ReviewHero sends review requests by email only. That is deliberate, so you do not have to register with phone carriers or work out texting rules.
For a text, use Text it yourself on the Send sheet. It opens your phone’s own messaging app with the tracked review link already in the message, addressed to nobody. You pick the contact and press send. It comes from your own number, in your own words, and ReviewHero still tracks the click on your dashboard.
Before you text
Texting customers has its own rules and consent expectations. Make sure you have permission to text the person you are messaging, and do not text anyone who has asked you to stop.
The same Google rules apply to every channel. Do not offer anything in exchange for a review, and do not send the link only to customers who say they were happy. See the FTC rule on review gating.
Frequently asked questions
Does ReviewHero send automatic text reminders?
No. Automatic requests and follow-ups go by email. Text it yourself is a manual option that uses your own messaging app.
If I send a review request text from a template, is the link tracked?
Yes. The link in the message is ReviewHero’s tracked link, so the click shows on your dashboard the same way as an email click.
Will the follow-up stop if they click the link from a text?
A click on that customer’s tracked link cancels any scheduled follow-up for the request.
Why no SMS feature?
It is a deliberate choice: email-only means no carrier registration and fewer rules to trip over. Texting yourself keeps the message personal.
What if the customer only has a phone number on file?
Add an email when you can. A record needs an email address to receive the automatic request and follow-up.
Put this on autopilot
ReviewHero asks every customer once, follows up politely, and stops the moment they open the review link. Free to download, and you can set it up from your phone.
