Get more Google reviews for your restaurant or cafe

Most walk-in diners never give a restaurant an email address. ReviewHero is honest about that, and it gives you two ways to ask for Google reviews anyway.

Where emailed Google review requests work for restaurants

ReviewHero sends requests by email, so it fits wherever you already collect an address:

  • Reservations and event bookings.
  • Catering and private-dining inquiries.
  • Online orders, if your system exports customer emails to a CSV.
  • On Premium, Square, QuickBooks Online, Zapier or a webhook, where customers on payments or invoices have an email address.

Only customers with an email address can be contacted. You can quick-add one in about five seconds or import a CSV.

Where it does not: the share link and QR card

For walk-in diners, Settings has a public review page for your business and a printable QR card. Print it for the table, the till or the back of a receipt. Scans are tracked like any other click. A guest who scans it lands on your business’s public review page, which sends them on to leave a review.

Read QR codes for review requests before you commit, including what to do about someone covering your code with a sticker.

Yelp

Yelp matters to many restaurants, but Yelp’s guidelines prohibit businesses from asking for reviews and it can penalize those that do. ReviewHero never includes Yelp in anything it sends. You can add your Yelp address to monitor what is posted there.

No table-side screening

A table card that sends happy diners to Google and unhappy ones to a private form is review gating. Google’s policy bans it regardless of channel. Give every guest the same public link.

Frequently asked questions

Does ReviewHero text diners?

No. Requests go by email only. For a text, the Send sheet has Text it yourself, which opens your own messaging app with the tracked link already in it.

What is the best way for a restaurant to ask walk-in diners for Google reviews?

The printable QR card and the public share link from Settings. Scans show on your dashboard like any other click.

Can I import a reservation list?

Yes, as a CSV. Only import guests who gave you their email address for that purpose; the import screen asks you to confirm it.

Can I ask for TripAdvisor reviews too?

Yes. Paste the TripAdvisor write-a-review address into a custom link slot in Settings and ReviewHero will route and track it.

Can I give diners a free dessert for a review?

No. Incentivized reviews break Google’s policy and US law, and ReviewHero has no feature for it.

Put this on autopilot

ReviewHero asks every customer once, follows up politely, and stops the moment they open the review link. Free to download, and you can set it up from your phone.
