Ask every roofing customer for a Google review, not a hand-picked few

Contractors sometimes only ask the customers they are sure are happy. Google’s policy prohibits selectively asking for positive reviews, and building that into a process is review gating, which the FTC’s rule on deceptive reviews also covers. ReviewHero sends everyone the same public link, with a private feedback box beside it. See what the rule says.

From the final invoice

Final invoices and signed completion sheets are where emails live.

  • Photograph the signed completion sheet or invoice and check the names and emails ReviewHero reads.
  • Quick-add the homeowner’s name and email at the walk-through.
  • On Premium, QuickBooks Online adds customers on paid invoices, and Zapier or a webhook handles other systems.

One reminder, then quiet

If the homeowner has not clicked after about two days, one polite follow-up goes out. Their click cancels it. After the last scheduled message the sequence is over, and the final email says so.

Dashboard view for the office

The funnel shows asked, sent, clicked and reviewed, so the office can see whether the problem is that nobody is being asked or that customers open the link and do not finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask for Google reviews after insurance-funded roofing jobs?

ReviewHero does not treat jobs differently. Add the customer’s name and email, and send. Do not offer anything in exchange for a review.

Can I see whether the customer actually posted?

ReviewHero shows clicks. It cannot see whether a review was written or what it said, because Google controls that page. You can mark a request as reviewed yourself.

What if the homeowner’s email is wrong?

If a request shows as failed on your dashboard, the address is not accepting mail. Correct it on the customer record and send again.

Do I need to add each customer by hand?

Not on Premium if you use QuickBooks Online, Square, Zapier or a webhook. On Starter, quick-add, photo capture and CSV import cover it.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New accounts get 7 days with the full app, and you can email a test request to yourself first.

Put this on autopilot

ReviewHero asks every customer once, follows up politely, and stops the moment they open the review link. Free to download, and you can set it up from your phone.
